19 year old convicted for Internet fraud Submitted: 08 Nov 2001 A 19 year old man conned Internet auction customers out of £16,000. Up to 200 victims were lured into the scam. What he did was offer goods for auction and to let the winning bidder send him cash and cheques to his home, instead of using a credit card online because of the potential security issues of using a card on the Internet.
