2000 coffins to be moved into the area | Submitted: 27 Jan 2002 | 2000 coffins from a crypt in Holborn are to be moved to the City of London Cemetery in Wanstead. Those people are thought to include Sir Edward Coke, Attorney General to Elizabeth 1st, organist Daniel Purcell and poet Henry Neale. The crypt is filled with rubble and soil, causing a damp problem so the contents need to be moved.
