Neighbourhood Watch (Fullwell Ward) – Local crime update Submitted: 12 Apr 2009 On 11/04/2009 at approximately mid-day an elderly gentleman living in the Atherton Road area of Fullwell Ward was burgled by a group of con-men and accompanying children. Circumstances: It would appear that several addresses in and around the Atherton Road area were “knocked” upon by these persons who were selling “packets of tissues” door to door. The sellers, who were believed to be Albanian and with a good command of English struck up a conversation and asked to use toilet / a glass of water to gain access to the house. The suspects then took items (Cash) from the address and left. Ring 999 if you receive un-wanted door to door sellers who you are unsure or unhappy about.
