This week's news in brief! | Submitted: 12 Oct 2001 | A 64 year old woman died in a collision with a motorbike whilst walking on the footpath in Horns Road at the junction of Seymour Way on Saturday last.
The National Lottery's News Opportunities Fund has awarded Redbridge Council's education department £345,000 for funding out-of-school activities. It will be spread around 15 schools.
Ely's Toys, on Snakes Lane East is to close on Christmas Eve after 82 years of trading there. Supermarkets and toy superstores are to blame. On Christmas Eve staff will be dressed up and serving food and drink to customers.
