14/12/2009 Review from visitor Jessica Overall rating 8/10
Smart modern decor, fairly busy when we visited, nice food - menu quite varied between traditional & modern dishes, service faultless.

Bhangra beat has become our local curry house and I find the quality of the food for the price very good. Definately the best curry house in the area.

The name is quite well known but how good is the place? On the menu there are various quotations from newspapers about how good it''s meant to be. I have no idea how accurately they have been snipped out of context, e.g one of the quotes is ''Amazing!''. What is amazing exactly? It''s just that I''m weary about claims on films from the video shop because they ALL say ''amazing!'' even though I hated the film. They probably say ''amazing'' just to get their organisation name onto the front of a video box as free advertising. I put the skeptical side of me away for the rest of the night.

The restaurant is fairly small, but that was not a problem. The interior decor is very nice, clean and traditional. The chairs are comfy unlike some I''ve been to where the chair backs are at 90 degrees. As soon as we sat down, we were given popadoms and our drinks order was taken. After we ordered proper the food was delivered in a good time. The finishing touches to the meal is prepared in front of you on a wheelie-cooker. The food was lovely and the price was good.

If you don''t want to eat in they do good take-away offers, e.g. if the order is over ?30, you get free bottle of wine.

They close at 11:45pm every night, so you might not be able to get there in time after going to the pub.

Nice looking restaurant, good food, good price, good service, good chairs.
