- How could the Mayor refuse?
Miss Vietnam, fresh from 'competing' in the Miss World competition took time out to have dinner with The Mayor, Cllr Dev Sharma in Wanstead with members of the Vietnamese community. The Mayor, who presumable has a very understanding wife, said he was not only impressed by her beauty, but with her brains. She apparently quizzed him about life in London and the education system.

- Double yellow line fiasco!
Double yellow lines were placed around Aldersbrook Primary School. However, when they are being placed, there was a car in the way. so the workmen had to just work around it. People have been parking in the unpainted gap between the lines, caused by this car! This has been happening for years, a spokesperson for Park Neighbourhood Watch says. He also adds that between 10pm and 10:15pm every day traffic wardens check the spot and if a car does not fit in the gap or even just touches a line, a parking ticket is issued, so if you know about this spot, pick a different time to park there!
