Submitted: 13 Oct 2002 Forget the old excuse of 'leaves on the line' or even 'the wrong type of snow' for reasons why trains are late, a great excuse was spotted at Ilford train station as to why a ticket machine was out of order: 'This machine is out of service due to infestation of mice.'.
