Suspected terrorist arrested in Ilford | Submitted: 30 Mar 2004 | One of the eight men arrested today after half a ton of ammonium nitrate fertiliser was found in a storage unit in West London, was from Ilford. All eight men arrested in raids on 24 premises across the South East were of Pakistani descent and are accused of being involved in the commission, preparation or instagation of acts of terrorism. The fertiliser was used in the Docklands and Bali bombings, and used by the IRA and al-Quaeda.
