Hi there, used to work as a barmaid in the Angel pub before going to Australia in 1990. Would love to hear from any of the regulars or bar staff who I knew at that time.

Wonder if anyone knows where I might find information about a bakery/pastry cook/confectioner shop in High Street,Ilford- way back in early 1900s- from about 1901 until 1920s or so? Great grandfather worked or owned one.All I know is that it caught fire!! His name was William Hill and there is a possiblity that he had a second wife (unmarried) and had children with her(Surname for them may have been Hills). He is shown as deceased on a sons marriage cert in 1920 and great grandma was a widow when she died in 1946.Many thanks in advance (Vicki- New Zealand)
