| ref post by Barbara Budd,i remember the Mocha coffee bar near the Regal cinema used to use it all the time in the early 60s and also used to go to a coffee bar in Goodmayes i think it was called the Casa Maria.those were the days fond memories |

| The real reason why the once lively forum has gone oh so silent is actually a very simple one… There are a few regulars on the board, one in particular, who basically engages in cyber bullying. Newcomers are regularly accused of being old members reincarnated when in fact, they are simply new people who want to join in and contribute. This, combined with snide and sarcastic remarks, most often directed towards newbies, is quite shameful behaviour. Of course contributors get tired of being targeted in this way and, because the forum is open, potential posters can clearly observe how newcomers are treated and quite understandably, keep their distance. The demise of the forum is truly a great virtual shame however, certain regulars have killed it off themselves. They, and they alone are to blame for its decline and I for one find it incredibly amusing that they are now lamenting this with such incredulity. Of course, the real joke is that some of the regulars themselves “invent” new personalities with almost disturbing regularity and are quite oblivious to the fact that it’s often painfully obvious who they truly are. No doubt the forum will now experience a brief surge in activity once they have all given birth to a few more of their oh-so-amusing and incredibly convincing multiple personalities…

| would love to hear from anyone who went to Gearies Infants/Junior and Secondary Girls circa 1953-1962. Its a long time ago and I have fond memories of the time spent there. Also going out in Ilford in those days does anyone remember Ilford Palais? or the Mocha coffee bar? |
