  • Santa's Spurs helpers!
    Tottenham Hotspur players Darren Anderton, Dean Richards, Goran Bunjecevic, Oyvind Leonardsen and Alton Thelwell turned up at Whipps Cross Hospital to give those who had to stay there over Christmas some extra cheer. They delivered lots of signed photos and presents. Perhaps the hospital does not have a chimney for santa to climb down?

  • Another collection box stolen.
    Thieves stole bags of foreign coins intended for Age Concern were stolen from its office in Ilford after its office was left unattended for 20 minutes. Fortunately "...there was not much in them."

  • Nativity scene smashed up
    The nativity scene outside Ilford Town Hall was demolished up after vandals kicked the front glass, smashed a shepherd and chipped a statue of Joseph.

  • Thieves robbed school of £17,500 and got away in teachers car!
    Thieves stole £17,500 worth of video cameras and cd players from a classroom in Chadwell Heath Foundation School. They escaped in a teacher's car which was stolen after his locked drawer was smashed.

  • This week's news in brief!
    Dairy Crest opened a £22 million extension in Chadwell Heath. The 'super dairy' is the largest of its kind in England. The redevelopment has enabled the plant to process 400 million litres of milk a year. Pupils from Beal High School are to appear on the BBBC2 educational programme 'Get Involved' to talk about their skills. A woman fell in front of a moving tube train at Redbridge Station. She only suffered some broken bones and a head injury. It is not being treated as suspicious. A section of the Central Line was suspended for two hours as she was rescued.
