- One man was found unconscious after being beaten up by 10 thugs in Chadwell Heath. Three people tried to help the man but were set upon too.
- Vicky Michelle opened a charity event at Barnardo’s last week.
- A local mother got mountain sickness and had to withdraw from climbing up Mount Kilimanjaro two days into her trek. This was in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.
- Man dies after laying down on train tracks at Seven Kings station.
- Teenager had bike stolen while he rode along South Park Road by four youngsters.

- A 10 year old student was one of the youngest children in Redbridge to pass a GCSE when he achieved a B grade in mathematics.
- To doorman were shot as they tried to stop a fight outside the Epping Forest Country Club nightclub in Chigwell on the Bank Holiday Monday. One suffered back wounds and was discharged the same day the other suffered stomach wounds and is in a comfortable state in hospital.
- A men suffered a fractured skull and a blood clot on his brain after being attacked by five men in New North Road.
- In Cranbrook Road a man was attacked with an iron bar on Saturday.
- The top school in Redbridge at GCSE results was Woodford County High School in Woodford Green and is ranked in the top 20 schools in Britain.
- The borough's Ilford High Road recycling plant was deemed unfit for use for six days following a visit by the Health and Safety executive.
- There are now free Internet terminals at selected Redbridge libraries. They have to be booked in advance.
- A temporary postman was caught stealing letters he was meant to deliver.

Brave off-duty fireman helps rescue an elderly women from a fire in Gants Hill.
- A teenage girl was given a parking ticket after leaving her car in a bus lane while she went to get urgent help. She is currently fighting a Redbridge Council about this.
- A Woodford Green man who took part in a £15.2 million money laundering racket has been jailed for six years.
- This year was the best on record for A-level results in Redbridge. Over 1300 students took them this year. The average points score in Redbridge was 17.6 compared with 16.2 last year.
- 200 clubbers had to be evacuated from The Shannon Centre after water tanks in the loft started to leak on Friday night.
- Unemployment in Ilford South dropped from 4010 in July 1997 to 2691 in July 2000.

Woodford Green and Essex ladies' Joice Maduaka and Damien Greaves of Newham and Essex Beagles then have been selected for the Olympic Games in Sydney in September. Other local people to have very narrowly missed out include Julie Pratt, Jo Fenn, Liz Pidgeon, Jo Duncan, Shally Holroyd and Tracey Duncan. in

- The DJ needed 38 stitches after he was attacked by a machete wielding maniac outside Ilford town hall.
- A gunman walked through a packed pub before tying up bar staff and stealing about £10,000. He then walked back through the crowded pub and left.
- Redbridge achieved the best GCSE results last year of any education of the a team containing grammar schools, with 58.5 per cent of pupils getting five or more A * to C GCSE passes
- Work has started on a new mental health unit in Goodmayes.
- A pensioner smacked somebody else's a four-year-old child after he accidentally road across the man's foot on a bike .
- An arsonist broke into her car wash and satellites before stealing two cars in Green Lane at 5:00am on Tuesday .
